Specifications
Supported Motors
The Winder hardware is designed to work out of the box with the following motors—no design file changes or modifications required:
BE4108 Specifications:
- 24n22p configuration (24 slots, 22 poles)
- Stator diameter: 41 mm
- Stator height: 8 mm
Eaglepower LA8308 Specifications:
- 36n40p configuration (36 slots, 40 poles)
- Stator diameter: 83 mm
- Stator height: 8 mm
Supported Stator Size Range
- Diameter: 30 – 90 mm
- Thickness: 5 – 15 mm
If you plan to wind other motor types within this size range, you may need to modify the highlighted components shown below.
Smaller stators (below 30 mm OD):
It may still be possible to wind them with small adjustments.
However, we do not officially support smaller stators yet, as testing is limited.
Larger stators (above 90 mm OD):
You will likely need stronger motors and controllers,
and may need to redesign or reinforce several structural and printed parts.
Future Support
Stator Dimensions
Planned supported stator sizes:
- Diameter: 90 – 150 mm
- Thickness: -100mm
Larger stators — such as those used in e-scooters, hoverboards, or heavy-lift drones — may also be possible with design modifications (e.g., a stronger drive motor or larger frame).
Multicoil Winding
Support for multicoil winding (e.g., two coils per slot) is planned for a future release.
This feature will require adding additional spools and wire guides to the hardware.
Software Compatibility
The current Winder software supports only 24n22p motor configurations (24 stator slots, 22 rotor poles).
Planned future software support includes:
- 12n14p — Commonly used in small to mid-sized drone motors
- 36n40p — Eaglepower LA8308 and similar high-torque motors
